Warm Bodies is an upcoming 2013 American paranormal romantic zombie comedy film based on Isaac Marion's popular novel of the same name. Directed and written by Jonathan Levine, the film stars Nicholas Hoult and Teresa Palmer.This film focuses on the development of the relationship between Julie (a teenage girl) and R (a zombie) and how their romance sets in motion a sequence of events that might transform the entire lifeless world.

The film has several references to Romeo and Juliet, including character names, such as "R" and "Julie" for "Romeo" and "Juliet.The movie is Rated PG-13 for zombie violence and some language.

After a zombie apocalypse R (Nicholas Hoult), a zombie, wanders around an America which is now filled with abandoned buildings, broken down cars and hordes of his fellow undead, including his friend M (Rob Corddry). R and M achieve rudimentary communication with grunts and moans, and occasionally near-words.

As a zombie, R constantly craves human flesh, especially brains, as he is able to "get high" on the memories of their former owners. Julie Grigio (Teresa Palmer) and a group of her friends are sent out by her father from a heavily-guarded walled-off human enclave in the city to recover medical supplies from abandoned buildings. R and a pack of zombies attack the group, and after R kills Julie's boyfriend and eats his brain, he is overcome with love for her. He rescues her from the rest of the pack and takes her back to an airplane at an airport that serves as his home to keep her safe. The two develop a relationship, causing R to slowly begin to come to life.

Occurring at the onset of the 2008 financial crisis, a man called Jeffrey kills his business partners and estranged wife before taking his children - 3-year old Victoria and 1-year old Lilly - away from home. Driving dangerously fast on a snow-covered road, the car slides off road and crashes into the woods. Surviving the crash, Jeffrey takes the children into an abandoned cabin, where he prepares a fire. Planning to kill his children and commit suicide, Jeffrey tells Victoria to look out the window and holds a gun to her head. Before he can shoot her, however, something pulls him away and out of the door, presumably killing him. Victoria cannot see the figure, however, because her glasses were broken in the crash. The girls survive by the fireside and are tossed a cherry by the mysterious figure in the night.where Mama is preparing to relive her suicide by taking Victoria and Lilly with her over the cliff. Annabel offers Mama the remains of her child, and the angry spirit undergoes a more peaceful transformation, appearing human again. But when Lilly calls out for her, she returns to her terrifying form and attacks, discarding the remains of her child. After a desperate struggle, Victoria decides to stay with Lucas and Annabel, while Lilly wants to go with Mama. Mama encases herself and Lilly in a cocoon and jumps off the cliff, hitting the same branch she did in the 1800s. Upon impact, she and Lilly turn into a shower of moths. While hugging Annabel and Lucas, Victoria notices a butterfly land on her hand, which she believes to be Lilly.
