The Babymakers (2012) Summary:
After trying everything to get his wife Audrey pregnant, Tommy Macklin
realizes to his horror that he may be "shooting blanks." Terrified that
his marriage may fall apart, Tommy recruits his friends to rob a
spermbank where he made a deposit years ago. As with any half-baked
scheme, everything can and does go wrong, testing the limits of Tommy
and Audrey's relationship and showing how far one couple will go in
hopes of getting pregnant.
The Babymakers is a ‘Comedy’ about a
couple who are struggling to have a baby, and when the guy’s sperm count
is low, he breaks into a sperm bank to steal back sperm he donated
years before.I put the
word ‘Comedy’ in quotes above because The Babymakers is directed by Jay
Chandrasekhar and stars Olivia Munn. I can’t tell you how far the
corners of my mouth are drooping right now, but it’s a lot. And it’s a
lot because I’m not laughing. Argh.To
explain the plot a bit more, the main character is trying to get his
wife pregnant, but due to his age or some such stuff, he can no longer
get his little guys to do their job. Years before he was a sperm donor,
and some of his sperm is still being held by the sperm bank, so he’s
going to get back that good sperm to get his wife all preggers.
Craziness occurs. Humor… does not ensue.The
film follows a couple, Audrey (Olivia Munn) and Tommy (Paul Schneider),
who desperately want a baby to complete their family. When they
discover that Tommy is currently shooting blanks, he resorts to
desperate measures when he conceives of a plot with a few of his friends
to break into a sperm bank in order to retrieve some of the sperm he
donated in his youth..The
